The BEAVERBANK hard and fast ashore at Fanning island in the Line Islands.
Hauled off successfully by the `U.S. Navy ship “CURRENT”. She lived for another day and had a successful career, mainly on the ‘Copra’ run. Served from 1953 to 1970. Remembered fondly!
Hi Mike, The US salvage vessel ‘ Current’ based at Pearl harbour got her off, remarkably undamaged, but she had pumped out most of the coconut oil loaded previously which made a huge white lake around her!
I assume the Beaverbank was refloated as I saw her being demolished at Gadani Beach ( the 1953 built Beavrbank )
