A nice view of the Bank Line vessel ALYNBANK, one of the 18 vessels ordered in 1924. An auxiliary anti-aircraft ship in the Navy from 1940 and served on the Russian convoys, then took part in the ‘Torch’ landings in Salerno in 1942. Became the eastern breakwater of the D Day ‘Mulberry’ harbour. Raised and scrapped at Troon after the war. ( See another entry under this name)
